Time & Location

Linlithgow, 7 The Vennel, Linlithgow EH49 7EX, UK

About the event

We pay lots of attention to how much we exercise, and what we eat and drink, but not all of us are aware of the impact our breathing has on our mental and physical health and wellbeing. But, it's all to do with how we breathe!

Join Sharon for this fascinating session and uncover why and how our modern-day breathing habits are zapping our energy, preventing us from sleeping well, and increasing our stress levels, she will show you how to change this and instead use your breathing to your advantage, and teach some simple breathing techniques to reduce stress and blood pressure, improve digestion, help with mental focus, balance your mood and energy and improve your sleep. In short, to help you cope with the challenges life throws at you.

What to expect

In a welcoming, friendly and enjoyable session, Sharon will provide you with insight, simple tools and practical breathing experiences, so that you will

  • Understand why and how our breathing shifts, and its impact on our health and mental wellbeing.
  • Learn the most effective way to breathe to stay in sync, energised, calm and productive.
  • Enjoy a breathwork experience to regulate the nervous system and bring you into balance.

You will leave feeling more in balance, more aware of the impact of your breathing, and hopefully inspired to change the way you think about and use your breath moving forward.

We really hope to see you there, and look forward to meeting, and breathing with you.

Information for the day

Please do look forward to the session, it is a lovely introduction to breathing well and breathwork and you will be made to feel welcome and safe. If you have any questions about the session in advance, do not hesitate to get in touch with us at info@thesocialbreathwork.com.

You don't need to bring anything, just yourself, however, we will be enjoying a breathing session at the end, so for those who prefer to lie down feel free to bring a yoga mat and blanket, and cushion to support your back should you wish. Being seated is also fine, however, lying down is often much more relaxing but not essential :).

  • Loose-fitting clothing is beneficial so that breathing is not restricted by tight clothes
  • We advise you not to eat a large meal right before the event

There are no contraindications and everybody is welcome to try the breathing techniques, we will however ask on registering if any attendees are pregnant or have current health conditions that we should know of in case we do need to make any adjustments.

Booking and Information

As this is an introductory session, we only ask for a small fee of £3.00 per person.

The session is suitable for everybody, 18 years and above. If you feel this would benefit someone slightly younger, 14 years and above can attend with an adult. (Contact us if you know of someone you think would benefit but would like the check with us first - we are happy to try and accommodate where possible).

Payment is required at the time of booking.

Sessions have limited spaces, so booking your place is required.

Should you not be able to attend please let us know as someone else would benefit from the space.

A refund will be provided if cancelled before 24 hours of the session starting.
